Say hello to Happyuniforms — the new name bringing high-quality medical uniforms to healthcare professionals in Spain and Germany. With the launch of our new websites, www.happyuniforms.es and www.happyuniforms.de, we’re excited to offer stylish, comfortable scrubs to even more nurses, doctors, dentists, vets and care teams across Europe.

From Happythreads to Happyuniforms: Expanding high quality scrubs to healthcare professionals across Europe

Happythreads was founded in 2009 by Abigail Moore and Daniel Plewman, who were determined to make a change in the scrubs market. Frustrated by the lack of stylish and comfortable workwear for healthcare professionals in Ireland and the UK, they created Happythreads — a brand focused on colourful, durable, and well-fitting medical scrubs.

In 2015, we launched Happyblouse for the French market, offering medical clothing in French and creating local connections. Our French team brought not only enthusiasm, (croissants and raclette 😍!) to our Dublin HQ, but also helped develop high-quality products like the popular ChrysVal scrub hats from France.

Now, we’re ready to bring our colourful workwear to even more professionals — with Happyuniforms in Spain and Germany.

Why "Happyuniforms" was the right fit for Spain and Germany

You might be wondering — if we already have Happythreads and Happyblouse, why introduce another name? The answer is simple: localisation.

In countries like Spain and Germany, the word “scrubs” isn’t commonly used. Instead, people search for terms like:

• ropa médica cómoda para enfermeras (comfortable medical uniforms for nurses)
• uniformes sanitarios de colores para clínicas
• medizinische Arbeitskleidung für Pflegekräfte
• bequeme Kasacks und Hosen für Ärzte

So, we created Happyuniforms — a name that’s clear, friendly, and easy to understand across multiple European languages. This name also gives us the flexibility to grow in other European markets while keeping one consistent identity.

A behind-the-scenes: creating Happyuniforms

Creating these websites was a team effort. After deciding on the name Happyuniforms, we worked hard to secure the domain names and build fully translated sites. With help from Claudia and Emma, we adapted the tone, language, sizing charts, payment methods, and legal terms — all with one goal: to make our new customers feel at home.

What started as a small idea took months to perfect — but we’re proud of what we’ve built. And we're just getting started.
